NEWS: Newton Faulkner

Haven't written many news pieces for a long time, which is obviously something I'll be doing a lot in future. So I tested the water with this brief piece on Newton Faulkner, again for Electric Banana.

ALBUM REVIEW: Jagwar Ma - Howlin'

Sydney duo Jagwar Ma's debut effortlessly blends its influences into a very current concoction. Read my full review at Electric Banana.

Frank Turner- Tape Deck Heart Review

Thought I'd break the monotony of dissertation work with another album review for Electric Banana. This time it's Tape Deck Heart by Frank Turner.

I've given it four stars (out of five), but it took a while to get to that. Certainly a 'grower'. Find out why here: http://www.electric-banana.co.uk/reviews/album-reviews/frank-turner-tape-deck-heart/

REVIEW: The Courteeners - Anna

Wrote a new review for Electric-Banana on the Courteeners new album, Anna. Yet to be published, so here it is unedited. I'll put the link up when it's been uploaded.

EDIT. Here you go. http://www.electric-banana.co.uk/reviews/album-reviews/the-courteeners-anna/

What’s this?
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Take this clichéd philosophy with you when you first listen to Anna, The Courteeners’ first LP since Falcon in 2010. Anna is certainly a grower, but never becomes fully grown.

13 for 2013: V - Me

The band after their visit to Topman's suit department (from hitthefloor.co.uk)
Annoyingly unGoogle-able, 'ME' are an Australian quartet signed to a UK label. Though they've been together for four years, their debut, 'Even the Odd Ones Out', is only just set for release in February this year.

Mt. Wolf on Electric-Banana

Had my first article published on the fancy-looking Electric-Banana.co.uk. Nice little site, and I'll be writing more for them.
This was just a piece on Mt. Wolf for the New Music section.
It's here.
